Amusement Park Week

This is totally unrelated to jewelry but I just had to share this video.  Apparently, my birthday week was the week of amusement parks.  We were in Disneyland for my birthday and then this last Saturday my husband and I went to Great America with my brother and his wife.

I have not been to Great America in years. Not once since I had children. Having kids makes everything scarier for me. How horrible would it be to leave your children motherless due to an amusement park ride right? Not that that stopped me from riding the ides. It just made me more terrified.  Especially when my life is in the hands of a teenager who is operating the ride and doing the "safety checks".

Somehow my brother talked me into doing the Extreme Flyer with him.  That's what the video is off.  Granted, it's small but it was taken by a camera phone.  Had we purchased the $40 video you could have seen the sheer terror on my face and heard my animalistic scream (and his) when we pulled the release cord.  Good lord.  That was terrifying.  I'm not so sure I should ever try skydiving....

Bringing it back to jewelry, I made a bunch of new pieces after our fun day.  It's good to have a day away from the kids on a day date!

I have a few new mosaic shells.  These are my favorite pendants.  They are so gorgeous in person!

 

This painted shell is very pretty too.  The swirls are a sparkly pearl finish.

Summer is almost here and I have let the blogging slip a little in order to enjoy the fabulous California weather with my little ones.  I did want to pop in to tell you that next Monday is my birthday so I plan on having a sale this weekend to celebrate.  If you aren't on the mailing list then please sign up so you won't miss the announcement (look on the left margin of this blog).

New Necklaces!

I have been a little blog delinquent over here.  Sorry about that!  Some times there just aren't enough hours in the day and the jewelry and orders come first.

I realized recently that I have been focusing a lot on earrings.  They have been selling well and they take less time to make so I feel like I got so much accomplished at the end of the night!  I really do think that necklaces are where I shine though so I decided to re-focus the other night. I was quite happy with the results.



This one is not for just anyone.  It is a big heavy delicious necklace.  You cannot be afraid of big jewelry to wear this one.


A dainty necklace!  Another realization was that I have been making lots of big pendant necklaces.  I blame my sister.  She always wore small pendant necklaces (formerly dainty divas) and she would yell at me when I didn't have a bunch. 
Now that I have successfully converted her to the dark side I don't have her harassing gently reminding me that some people don't like big pendants.  So, small pendant people...I remember you and I will try to make some smaller necklaces.


Oops!  Did a fabulous pair of tortoise lucite earrings slip in there?  I just couldn't resist.  I LOVE these!
